Maria Martins (1894-1973) was an important female figure in the history of the Brazilian Art. Sculptor, designer, engraver and writer. She develops a large part of her career abroad due to the activities of her husband, ambassador Carlos Martins. Among many other collections she has works at the Met, the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Brooklyn Museum.
